St. Paris is a village in Champaign County just West of Urbana, with a population of 2,089 residents. St. Paris was originally inhabited by Native Americans and in 1831 the village was founded by David Huffman and was incorporated as a village in 1858. Today, St. Paris is a warm and friendly town and each year they celebrate their heritage with the Pony Wagon Days where family and friends can enjoy a parade, basket auction, car show, craft show, and local food. In 2006, the St. Paris community, with assistance from The Ohio Historical Society erected an Ohio Historical Marker representing the Lincoln Funeral Train, which traveled through St. Paris on its way from Washington D.C. to Springfield, IL.
