Enon is a village in Clark County, Ohio just West of Springfield, and has a total population of 2,415 residents. Enon means “abundance of spring” and was first settled prior to 1798 and was established in 1850. Enon, Ohio is home to Speedway, which is the nation’s second-largest chain of corporate-owned convenience stores. Speedway employs around 1,350 employees in Clark County and is a major employer in the region.
With a rich history, the village of Enon established the Enon Community Historical Society to serve Enon and Mad River Township. The society continues to preserve the history and heritage of the community by maintaining important historical sites and providing residents and visitors a complete library of the local history. Enon, Ohio is also known for its apple butter and holds an annual apple butter festival, where visitors can experience the old-fashioned way of cooking apple butter, enjoy specialty foods, and support local artists by browsing juried arts and crafts.
